The Cultural Association of Gimari and the club "CORFIOT YOUTH INITIATIVE" was founded in 1997 with headquarters in the village of Gimari, at the Municipality of Kassiopi, Corfu, Greece.

The establishment of our association was initiated by inhabitants of Gimari and its surrounding areas with main objective and purpose that of the enhancement of our cultural heritage and natural beauty of the area, along with the development of close connections, the spirit of cooperation and solidarity among members of the club, residents of the region and in general among all citizens, in our municipality of Kassiopi and in the island of Corfu.

According to the Association's Statute, aims of the Association are:

• Close connections development, creating a spirit of cooperation and solidarity and cultivate the relations:
  • a) among members of the club and all local citizens in general.
  • b) with local student, cultural, artistic, educational and spiritual associations and similar organizations.
  • c) with educational, artistic and spiritual associations of our country.
• Provide all possible assistance and support to its members.
• Contribute to the intellectual, cultural and social relations of its members and local citizens in general and the creative use of their free time.
• The protection, preservation and promotion of the natural beauty and wealth of our environment, of the island in general and the participation and contribution in tackling the broader modern environmental and ecological problems.
• Project and solve residential problems, particularly problems, concerning our youth and those relating to the care and development of cultural and sports activities for our youth.
• Contribute to the preservation and promotion of our folklore and traditions.
• Contribute to the protection, promotion and preservation of our cultural and historical monuments.
• Search for solutions, in cooperation with other local associations, for every cultural, educational, social and ecological problem and improve the conditions and quality of life for our residents, especially for our youth.

Means for the realization of the Association's aims and objectives are:

• Organize lectures, discussions, meetings and work commitees.
• Cooperate with local associations, clubs and commitees.
• Use mass media for projecting our aims.
• Organize art and entertainment events, excursions and manage the execution of projects in our area (organize libraries, sports and entertainment facilities, cultural centers etc.)
• Inform local authorities for problems in our area and claim solutions.
• Protect and preserve our local folklore and tradition.
• Any other lawful actions and activities aimed at achieving the objectives of the association.
